1. Choose a safe public loop
Look for connected streets or paths that are open to the public and appropriate for walking or running. The broad route should return around to its beginning without requiring a dangerous road crossing, railway access, trespass or entry into a restricted place.
A simple, legible loop is easier to follow than a route built from last-second turns. Check real-world signs and conditions; a digital map cannot confirm access or safety.
2. Prepare location recording
Enable device Location Services, Marchh location permission and Precise Location where available. If the activity will continue while the app is backgrounded or the phone is locked, the necessary background permission and battery settings also matter.
Move outdoors to a place with a usable location signal before starting. Dense buildings, tunnels and heavy tree cover can reduce GPS quality.
3. Record genuine movement
Start the appropriate Walk or Run and carry the device for the full activity. Marchh creates route geometry and metrics from accepted samples rather than from a planned line.
Do not use spoofing, fake-location tools, automated movement, replayed data or duplicate activities. Marchh may reject inaccurate, implausible, manipulated or artificial information.
4. Bring the route around
Complete the planned loop so the recorded route can enclose an area. Watch traffic and surroundings instead of chasing an exact screen line.
Finish using the normal product flow. Marchh can then calculate a covered area and evaluate territory eligibility.
5. Read the outcome accurately
A claim may be accepted, rejected or modified according to geometry, accuracy, integrity, minimum activity requirements and existing territory. Poor GPS can also make a legitimate route look incomplete.
Territory is virtual and ownership can change. If a result appears technically incorrect, contact Marchh Support with non-sensitive identifying detail about the activity.
Questions people ask
Does a closed route always create territory?
No. Closure supplies an area to evaluate, but location quality, route geometry, activity integrity, territory conflicts and other rules still determine eligibility.
What exact size or closure threshold is required?
Marchh does not publish integrity-sensitive thresholds. Product rules may also change, so this guide avoids promising a fixed number.
