MARCHH

Privacy Policy

Marchh (“Marchh,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is an independently operated digital service based in India.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and protect information when you use the Marchh mobile application, the Marchh website at marchh.app, and related Marchh services.

Marchh is a location-based walking and running experience that allows people to record movement, create covered areas, claim virtual territories, view territory ownership, maintain activity history, and interact through social features.

By using Marchh, you acknowledge the data practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Age Requirement

Marchh is intended only for people who are 18 years of age or older.

You may not create or use a Marchh account if you are under 18.

We collect your date of birth during onboarding in part to determine whether you meet Marchh's age requirement.

Marchh is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly intend to collect personal data from anyone under 18.

If we learn that an account belongs to a person under 18, we may restrict or delete the account and associated personal information where appropriate.

If you believe a person under 18 is using Marchh or has provided personal information to us, contact us at support@diplotix.com.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create or maintain a Marchh account, we may collect information such as your email address, full name, username, date of birth, selected profile avatar, account identifiers, authentication information, and information necessary to maintain your Marchh account.

You may be able to authenticate using Sign in with Apple, Google, or email authentication.

When you use a third-party authentication provider, that provider may send Marchh limited account information necessary to authenticate you.

If you use Sign in with Apple and choose Apple's Hide My Email feature, Marchh may receive an Apple-generated private relay email address instead of your personal email address.

Marchh does not receive or store your Apple ID or Google account password.

Location Information

Location information is fundamental to Marchh's core functionality.

With your permission, Marchh may collect precise location information to show your current position, record walking or running activities, calculate movement, create route geometry, calculate covered areas, validate territory claims, and display location-based Marchh features.

When you intentionally start a walking or running activity and grant the necessary permission, Marchh may continue receiving location information while the application is in the background or your device is locked.

Background location is intended to support an activity that you started. Marchh is not designed to continuously record your movements when you are not participating in a location-based Marchh activity that requires such processing.

You can control location permissions through your device's operating-system settings. Some Marchh features may not function without location permission.

Activity Information

When you record an activity, Marchh may process information generated by that activity, including route coordinates, timestamps, distance, duration, pace, location accuracy, GPS quality information, covered area, territory geometry, activity status, territory eligibility, territory ownership, and related statistics.

Marchh may reject inaccurate, implausible, duplicated, manipulated, or otherwise invalid GPS information in order to protect activity and territory integrity.

Marchh does not currently collect health information through Apple HealthKit.

Territory Information

Marchh creates virtual territory information from qualifying activities.

This may include territory polygons, territory size, the Marchh account associated with territory ownership, and information needed to resolve overlapping or conflicting territory claims.

Territory ownership is designed to be visible to other Marchh users. As a result, location-derived territory geometry and associated public profile information may be publicly visible within Marchh.

A Marchh territory is virtual and does not represent legal ownership or possession of real-world property.

Profile and Social Information

If you use Marchh's social features, we may process information including your username, display name, avatar, shared activity content, captions, comments, follows, reports, blocks, and other content that you intentionally submit or publish.

Information that you intentionally publish through social features may be visible to other Marchh users.

Please do not publish personal information that you do not want other people to see.

Reports, Blocks and Safety Information

When you report a user, profile, post, comment, or other content, Marchh may store information about the report, the reported content or account, the reason for the report, moderation status, and actions associated with reviewing the report.

When you block another user, Marchh processes information necessary to enforce that block across supported social interactions.

Device and Technical Information

Marchh may process technical information needed to securely operate the service, including app version, operating-system information, device or installation identifiers where applicable, authentication-session information, network/request metadata, service logs, and diagnostic information associated with errors or security events.

Marchh currently does not use third-party advertising SDKs or third-party analytics SDKs for cross-app advertising tracking.

Notifications

Marchh provides an in-app Notification Center.

Where a version of Marchh offers device notifications and you choose to enable them, Marchh or its service providers may process an installation identifier or notification token needed to deliver those notifications.

You can control system notification permission through your device settings.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use personal information where reasonably necessary to operate Marchh and provide the functionality you request.

This includes creating and maintaining accounts, authenticating users, enforcing the 18+ age requirement, showing your location on maps, recording walking and running activities, calculating distance and pace, calculating covered areas, validating territory claims, managing territory ownership, maintaining activity history, operating Social features, displaying public territory information, processing reports and blocks, preventing abuse and fraud, providing support, securing the service, processing account deletion, complying with legal obligations, and maintaining or improving service reliability.

We do not use your precise location for third-party advertising.

We do not sell your personal information to advertisers.

We do not currently use Marchh information for cross-app advertising tracking.

4. Information Visible to Other Users

Marchh contains public and social functionality.

Depending on the feature, other users may be able to see your username, display name, selected avatar, public profile information, territory ownership, territory geometry, territory area, and content or activities you intentionally share.

Public territory information may reveal that your Marchh account has been associated with movement in a particular geographical area.

You should consider this before participating in territory features.

Private authentication credentials are not displayed publicly.

5. Service Providers

Marchh relies on third-party providers to deliver parts of the service.

Supabase is used for services such as authentication, databases, storage, server-side functions, and other backend infrastructure.

Apple may process information when you use Sign in with Apple or other Apple platform functionality.

Google may process information when you choose Google authentication.

Marchh uses mapping and geographic-data infrastructure to display maps and location-derived information. Map information may incorporate data provided by mapping or geographic-data providers, including OpenStreetMap-related data where applicable.

Brevo may be used to deliver transactional or authentication-related email.

The Marchh website may use infrastructure providers such as Vercel for website hosting and delivery.

These providers process information according to their respective roles, contracts, terms, and privacy practices.

We expect service providers processing personal information on our behalf to apply protections appropriate to the information they process.

6. Advertising and Sale of Information

Marchh does not sell your personal information to data brokers or advertisers.

Marchh does not currently operate an advertising network.

Marchh does not currently use your activity or precise location information for third-party behavioural advertising.

7. Location Controls

You control Marchh's access to device location through your operating-system settings.

Depending on your platform, you may be able to allow precise location, approximate location, foreground location, or background location.

Removing location permission may prevent maps, activity recording, covered-area calculation, territory capture, or other location-dependent functionality from operating correctly.

You can revoke location permission at any time through your device settings.

8. Data Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it is processed, to maintain Marchh, protect users and the service, resolve disputes, prevent abuse or fraud, satisfy legal requirements, or enforce applicable agreements.

Different categories of information may therefore be retained for different periods.

When information is no longer reasonably necessary, we may delete it, anonymize it, aggregate it, or otherwise remove its association with an identifiable Marchh account where appropriate.

9. Account Deletion

You can initiate permanent account deletion directly inside Marchh:

Settings → Delete account

Marchh may require confirmation or recent authentication to protect your account from unauthorized deletion.

Deleting your Marchh account is intended to delete the account and personal data associated with the account that we are not legally required or otherwise permitted to retain.

Account deletion may remove or disconnect your profile, private account information, social relationships, private activity data, and other account-associated information.

Territories associated with the account may be released.

User-generated content associated with your account may be deleted or disassociated as part of the deletion process, subject to limited retention where necessary for security, fraud prevention, legal obligations, or other lawful purposes.

Some information may remain in anonymized, aggregated, or otherwise non-identifiable form.

If your Marchh account includes Sign in with Apple, Marchh may ask you to authenticate with Apple during deletion so Marchh can revoke the applicable Apple authorization before completing deletion.

10. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on applicable law, you may have rights relating to your personal information, including the ability to request information about processing, correct inaccurate information, request deletion, withdraw consent, raise a grievance, or exercise other applicable data-protection rights.

Certain information can be updated directly inside Marchh.

Device permissions such as location and notifications can be controlled through your operating-system settings.

You may delete your account directly inside Marchh.

For a privacy or data-protection request that cannot be completed through the application, contact:

support@diplotix.com

We may need to verify your identity before processing a request relating to an account or personal information.

11. Withdrawing Permission

Where Marchh relies on your permission or consent for a particular form of processing, you may withdraw that permission where available.

For example, you may revoke device location permission through system settings.

Withdrawal does not necessarily affect processing that lawfully occurred before the withdrawal.

Certain core Marchh features cannot operate without the information needed to provide them.

12. Security

We use reasonable technical, organizational, and administrative safeguards designed to protect personal information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, loss, or misuse.

Security measures may include authenticated access, access controls, protected backend operations, encrypted network communication, and other technical safeguards appropriate to Marchh's architecture.

No internet service, computer system, or storage system can guarantee absolute security.

13. International Processing

Marchh's service providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live.

When information is processed internationally, we seek to use providers and arrangements appropriate for the applicable data and legal requirements.

We may preserve, use, or disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law, legal process, or valid governmental requests; protect the rights, safety, or security of Marchh, our users, or others; investigate fraud, abuse, or security incidents; or enforce our Terms of Service and Community Guidelines.

We do not provide personal information to third parties merely because they request it without an appropriate basis.

15. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as Marchh develops, our practices change, or legal requirements change.

When appropriate, we may notify users of material changes through Marchh, the website, or another reasonable method.

The current Privacy Policy will always be available at:
